Nikibird began as "product portal", designed to sell a number of items we had collected over the years, which were merely collecting dust. Having designed a personal web site in early 2003, Nikibird began receiving requests to either build or fine tune sites for friends.
 Eventually, this service branched out into providing tech support and tutorial assistance for others who had difficulties with their sites. In time, it became evident that a choice had to be made between working a "regular job" and providing quality web design and tech support for others. Nikibird chose web design out of passion and has never looked back.

Question. What is the monthly charge to build a website?
Answer: There is no monthly charge to build a website.
A Website is built and paid for much as one might build a house. Generally, a down payment of 50% of the expected cost is made as earnest money. Once the site has been completed, it is presented to the buyer for a final inspection. Once the buyer is satisfied, the remainder is paid and the site is placed on a Server.
The Server is a computer with a dedicated use of storing your site (also referred to as "hosting") and making your site available for any who request to see your pages on the internet. It is akin to a piece of land where one might place a house. It is where your site "lives". There are many hosting companies from which you may  choose to host your site, offering to host sites at varying prices, some for as little as $50.00 per year. This cost is separate from the cost of building your site and is paid to the hosting service.
The final cost you face is the cost of having a Domain Name or URL (Uniform Resource Locator) which acts as the address of your site. It is through this URL that you are able to be found among the millions of other sites on the internet. The cost of a domain name varies depending upon demand (the domain name fund.com sold recently for $10 million), but most can be had for less than $10.00 per year. There are a number of companies who can help you find and register a domain name.
